I know that meatloaf isn’t appetizing to everyone, but I think it totally depends on the recipe. The meatloaf at restaurants is usually… tomatoey? Yuck.
My mom’s meatloaf tastes like hamburger steak. It contains cheese, bacon bits and instead of breadcrumbs, she always uses cornflakes. No tomato here. Unless you decide to put ketchup on it.
But, even better than the meatloaf itself are the sandwiches you can make with the leftovers. No need to heat it up. It’s really good cold with some mayo on bread. Now that I think about it, it’s almost a hamburger.
It’s definitely a taste from my childhood.
