I thought that once a tooth cut through the gums it didn’t hurt so much, but both of E’s top two front teeth are through now, and today was his roughest day.
He woke up at 4 AM and I had to feed and rock him for an hour and a half before he would fall asleep in his crib again. Luckily he let me sleep until 9:30 after that, so I wasn’t a tired mess today, but every little thing set him off and he whimpered most of the day. I gave him a couple of doses of Tylenol, which helped a little and at least allowed him to nap, but he was still pretty unhappy and wanted to be held a lot. I knew that it was going to be a stay home in pajamas kind of day. ♡
His pediatrician recommended we try Hyland’s Baby Teething Tablets, but I have never found that they work. They’re little white chalky tablets that quickly dissolve in baby’s mouth and E loves the way they taste, but we’ve gone through half a bottle, and he never seems to get any relief from them. We’ve even crushed them up and rubbed them directly on his gums with no luck. I like that they’re homeopathic, but nothing but Tylenol, a frozen teether, and lots of TLC seem to help so far.
I just feel bad for him. He’s only 5 months old but has 4 teeth. He’s scraping those four teeth together though and the sound is kind of making our skin crawl.
Here’s to hoping he gets some relief tomorrow!
